The health and well being of your pet is our primary concern. We are proud to offer clean, state of the art Boarding facilities for your convenience, and for your pet’s comfort and safety. Any time multiple pets are together in the same facility, the spread of infectious disease is possible. We believe that it is possible to minimize this risk to your pet, but we need your help and cooperation to do it. If your pet’s primary care is done at another hospital, please make sure that we have the vaccination and pertinent medical records at least 48 hours prior to the boarding stay. This allows our staff to ensure that all health requirements are met.
We board only healthy pets in our Boarding Facility.
CAT BOARDING:
Cats must have a current Rabies, and Distemper vaccination. The “Distemper Vaccine” in cats or the FVRCP vaccine protects against Feline Rhinotracheitis virus, Calici virus, and Panleukopenia virus. These viruses cause highly contagious disease among susceptible cats, which can be spread in respiratory secretions. The American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association have recently modified their vaccination recommendations for cats. The changes include use of non-adjuvanted vaccinations when possible and increasing the vaccination interval. All Pets Medical & Laser Surgical Center follows these recommendations. If you have any questions concerning these recommendations, please ask one of our knowledgeable staff members.
All pets must also have a completely physical examination in the past year to be eligible for our boarding facility.
Rabies is a fatal neurological disease of mammals. Texas is a hot spot of Rabies in wildlife. Since humans can also be infected and die of this disease it is incredibly important to ensure that your pets are current on this vaccination. All Pets Medical & Laser Surgical Center follows the most recent recommendations by the State of Texas, Public Health authorities, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
