The health and well being of your pet is our primary concern. We are proud to offer clean, state of the art boarding facilities for your convenience, and for your pet’s comfort and safety. Any time multiple pets are together in the same facility, the spread of infectious disease is possible. We believe that it is possible to minimize this risk to your pet, but we need your help and cooperation to do it. If your pet’s primary care is done at another hospital, please make sure that we have the vaccination and pertinent medical records at least 48 hours prior to the boarding stay. This allows our staff to ensure that all health requirements are met.
We board only healthy pets in our Boarding Facility.
FERRET BOARDING:
Ferrets must have current Rabies and Distemper vaccinations within the past year and have a complete physical exam within the past year.
Rabies is a fatal neurological disease of mammals. Texas is a hot spot of Rabies in wildlife. Since humans can also be infected and die of this disease it is incredibly important to ensure that your pets are current on this vaccination. All Pets Medical & Laser Surgical Center follows the most recent recommendations by the State of Texas, Public Health authorities, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Ferrets can be infected with Canine Distemper virus. There is no specific treatment for this disease, and the mortality rate (death rate) is almost 100%. Therefore, vaccination for this disease is extremely important. This is one of the most prevalent viral diseases in the environment, so not only is it required to enter our boarding facility, it is recommended that your ferret be protected yearly even if he is not boarding.
