Dental Care
Dental care is important for your pet's health just as it is for you. Periodontal disease can lead to pain and tooth loss, and the resulting infections can damage other organs as well. A complete cleaning under general anesthesia may be recommended. The level of dental care required depends on several aspects and may need to be re-assessed once the pet is placed under general anesthesia. The amount of gingivitis, calculus, and dental disease present, as well as the presence of loose teeth, bone resorption, or infection will be evaluated. During the dental procedure your pet's teeth will be scaled, polished, probed for defects, charted for record-keeping, treated with fluoride and the sealant OraVet will be applied.
